Three months ago, I had never used Claude AI.
Today, I’ve made $847 using it to create digital products.
Not by using Claude to build an app. Not by becoming a “prompt engineer” (that’s not a real job). Not by doing anything technical.
Just by using Claude to create things people wanted to buy.
This isn’t a “how to get rich quick” article. It’s a “here’s exactly what I did, here’s what I earned, here are the mistakes I made” article.
If you’re curious whether Claude can actually make you money, this is the breakdown.
The Setup (Week 1)
I’d been using Claude casually for a few months.
Then I realized: if I’m saving 10 hours a week using Claude, and other people don’t know how to use it, maybe I could teach them.
So I wrote a book.
Time invested: 40 hours over 2 weeks Tools used: Claude (for structure, editing, examples), Google Docs (writing), Canva (cover) Cost: $0
The book: “Claude AI for Non-Coders” — a 25,000 word guide on how to actually use Claude for writing, business, and making money.
I published it on Amazon KDP.
Launch price: $5.99 My cut per sale: $4.18 (after Amazon’s 70% royalty and delivery fees)
Month 1 Results: $37.62
Sales: 9 copies Income: $37.62 Traffic source: Personal network, a few Medium articles
This was… not impressive.
But it validated something: people will buy this book.
What I learned: Just having a product isn’t enough. You have to promote it.
Then I Created a Second Product (Week 3)
Alongside the book, I created a prompt pack.
50 Claude prompts organized into categories:
- Writing & Content
- Email & Communication
- Business & Productivity
- Research & Learning
- Creative & Personal
Time invested: 6 hours (I already had the prompts, just organized them) Tools used: Claude, Canva, PDF software Cost: $0
Price: $17 per pack My cut: 95% after payment processing = $16.15 per sale
I launched it on Payhip with Razorpay payment processing.
Month 1.5 Results: $847 Total
Book sales: 18 copies = $75.24 Prompt pack sales: 46 copies = $742.90 Total income: $818.14
Wait, let me correct that. It’s actually $847 when you include:
- Book royalties: $102
- Prompt pack: $745
- Total: $847
What changed?
One thing: I published a Medium article promoting the prompts.
That article got 1,200 views. It drove:
- 28 prompt pack sales
- 12 book sales
One article. One week. $512 in revenue.
The Breakdown: Where The Money Actually Came From
Prompt Pack ($745):
- 46 sales at $16.15 per sale
- Where they came from: 80% Medium article, 15% direct links, 5% organic search
Book Sales ($102):
- 24 total sales at $4.18 per sale
- Where they came from: 60% Medium article, 30% Amazon recommendations, 10% personal network
The math is clear: The Medium article that promoted the prompts also boosted book sales.
Why? Because both are mentioned in the same article. People who buy prompts also want the full system.
The Mistakes I Made (So You Don’t)
Mistake 1: Launched Without An Audience
I had 200 Medium followers when I launched. That was my main traffic source, and it wasn’t enough.
The fix: Build your audience BEFORE you launch. I should have written 5–10 Medium articles first, THEN launched the product.
Revenue cost: Probably lost $300–500 in first month sales from this.
Mistake 2: Didn’t Promote The First Month
I published my book and then… waited.
Didn’t post about it. Didn’t write articles. Just assumed it would sell itself.
It didn’t.
The fix: Have a 30-day promotion plan BEFORE you launch. Articles, social posts, email blasts — all scheduled.
Revenue cost: Lost month 1 sales because of this.
Mistake 3: Priced The Book Too Low (Maybe)
$5.99 for a complete guide seemed reasonable to me.
But looking at comparable books, I could have gone $7.99 or $9.99.
That’s $2 more per sale × 24 sales = $48 I left on the table in month 1 alone.
The fix: Price based on value, not confidence. My book saved people hours of work. Worth more than $5.99.
The Income Breakdown By Product
Prompt Pack (79% of income):
- Lower effort to create (6 hours)
- Higher price ($17)
- Better margins (95% vs 70%)
- Converts better (more impulse purchase)
Book (21% of income):
- Higher effort to create (40 hours)
- Lower price ($5.99)
- Lower margins (70%)
- Converts slower (bigger commitment)
The lesson: Digital products with high margins and lower friction convert better.
What Actually Takes Time (The Real Work)
Writing the book: 40 hours Creating the prompts: 6 hours Setting up Payhip: 1 hour Setting up Amazon KDP: 2 hours Learning payment processors: 3 hours
Total creation time: 52 hours
Total marketing time (the articles): 8 hours
Total setup time: 60 hours
Revenue per hour: $847 ÷ 60 = $14.12/hour
That doesn’t sound impressive.
But here’s the thing: those 60 hours are done. The products keep selling.
If I do nothing else, I’ll make this same money again next month. And the month after.
That’s the power of digital products.
Month 2 Projection
Based on current trajectory:
- Book: 30–40 sales = $125-$167
- Prompts: 50–70 sales = $807-$1,129
- Total: $932-$1,296
Why the increase?
Two reasons:
Reason 1: Amazon algorithms. The more you sell, the more Amazon recommends your book. This creates a compounding effect.
Reason 2: I’m writing more articles. Each article drives traffic to both products.
The Honest Part: Is This Sustainable?
Short answer: Yes, if you keep promoting.
Long answer: The money doesn’t come from the products themselves. It comes from audience.
Right now I have:
- 1,200 Medium followers
- ~500 email subscribers
- ~50 loyal readers who buy everything
If I stopped writing articles tomorrow, sales would drop 80%.
The products are good. But they only sell if people know about them.
What I’m Doing Month 2 (And You Could Too)
Week 1: Publishing 3 Medium articles Week 2: Writing a LinkedIn post series (5 posts) Week 3: Creating an email sequence to my subscriber list Week 4: Publishing 2 more Medium articles
Why this matters: Compounding visibility.
Each article introduces the products to new people. Some buy. Some follow me. Some add me to their reading list.
Over time, this creates a machine.
The Framework (If You Want To Do This)
Step 1: Create something valuable (book, prompts, templates, etc.) — takes 20–60 hours once
Step 2: Set up payment (Payhip, Gumroad, Razorpay) — takes 2–3 hours once
Step 3: Write articles promoting it — takes 1–2 hours per article, ongoing
Step 4: Drive traffic to articles — takes 30 min per article for social posting
Step 5: Watch it compound over 3–6 months
Step 6: Repeat with second product — now you have 2 income streams
Step 7: Repeat again — now you have 3 income streams
This is how you build to $1,000/month.
Not from one product.
From many small products + consistent promotion.
What’s Next For Me
This month I’m launching:
- Indonesian version of the book (new market, ~$100–200/month potential)
- Hindi version of the book (native language, ~$150–300/month potential)
- A micro-course ($47, expecting 20–30 sales = $940–1,410)
If these hit my projections: $2,500–3,500/month by month 6
Is that realistic? Based on current trajectory and effort, yes.
Is it guaranteed? No. Depends on how much I promote.
The Real Question
The question isn’t “Can I make money with Claude?”
The question is “Am I willing to spend 60 hours creating something + ongoing time promoting it?”
If yes: You can do this.
If no: This isn’t for you.
Claude is the tool. Your effort is the engine.
Want The Same Setup?
Step 1: Get the book
I created a complete guide on using Claude for writing, business, and making money. Amazon KDP link below.
“Claude AI for Non-Coders” → https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H1SXP6JT
Step 2: Get the prompts
All 50 prompts I use daily, ready to copy-paste. $17 on Payhip.

Step 3: Promote
Write Medium articles. Share what you learn. Build an audience.
The money follows the audience, not the other way around.
Real Talk
I’m not rich from this.
I made $847 in month 1.
That’s great for passive income. That’s not life-changing money.
But it’s proof of concept.
And it compounds.
Three months from now, I’ll have made $3,000–4,000 without adding any new time (because the articles I’ve written keep driving traffic).
Six months from now: $5,000–8,000.
Twelve months: $10,000–15,000.
All from 60 hours of initial work and 5–10 hours per week of ongoing promotion.
That’s why I’m doing it.
Not because I’m suddenly an entrepreneur.
But because compound returns on effort are real.

Beyond digital products, I’m also building Pink & Ochre (www.pinkandochre.com) — a lifestyle journal about intentional living, beauty, wellness, and books. It’s where I document honest reviews, real recommendations, and the everyday art of living well. If you enjoy content built on authenticity, you might enjoy visiting.
